Rolls-Royce employs 35,000 people worldwide including 7,500 scientists and engineers. Last year the company spent £30 million on the education and training of its employees, recruiting 130 graduates and 100 modern apprentices. In addition 235 undergraduates worked in the company for periods of between two and 12 months. By the end of 2003, the company employed 260 graduates on formal training programmes and 350 apprentices and technicians worldwide.
